🪵 Vinification & Maturation

The grapes are hand-harvested and strictly selected.

After a 10–15 day fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for 5 months in French oak and subsequently for 12 months in concrete tanks – a method that lends it depth and minerality without weighing it down.

🌿 Terroir & Vines

The vines grow on 23 hectares of limestone, clay, and gravel soils at the foot of the Tuscan mountains, at altitudes between 400 and 620 meters.

Densely planted parcels, 20-year-old vines, and a southwest orientation ensure concentrated, aromatic grapes with unmistakable personality.

Andrea Franchetti was a visionary.

He acquired the remote estate in the 1980s and, in the early 1990s, after a formative stay in Bordeaux, began planting vines in this secluded corner of Tuscany.

His philosophy: to combine the Bordeaux understanding of structure and depth with the passion and sun of Italy.

Today, Tenuta di Trinoro is considered one of Italy’s most legendary producers.
