Sauvignon Winkl Terlan 2024 - Alpine freshness meets Mediterranean richness
This wine tells the story of the South Tyrolean Alps , of cool nights, warm days, and soils that demand patience and character from the vines. The result is not a pleasing, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc, but a white wine with tension, structure, and mineral elegance – clearly defined, yet complex.
🌿 Terroir & Vinification
The vineyards benefit from Terlano's unique microclimate :
Alpine coolness meets Mediterranean influences. The grapes are harvested by hand , gently pressed, and slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks.
The wine is aged 80% in stainless steel tanks and 20% in large wooden barrels , followed by several months on the fine lees – for structure and elegance without wood aromas.
The character
Bright straw yellow with green reflections in the glass.
On the nose , apricot, mandarin and passion fruit , accompanied by elderflower, gooseberry and a hint of mint .
On the palate, it is juicy, clear, and precise, supported by a fine acidity. The finish is mineral, aromatic, and surprisingly long – a Sauvignon Blanc with tension and elegance.
