The Arenga palm grows in the diverse, self-regulating ecosystems of the native rainforests of Masarang in Sulawesi.
Arenga palm sugar is made from pure sugar juice extracted from the flower stalk of the Arenga tree The trees do not need to be felled and can produce high sugar yields for over 100 years.
Sulawesi boasts a unique biodiversity. Of the more than 120 mammal species found on the island, more than half are endemic to Sulawesi, as are the more than 200 bird species.
Arenga palm sugar is rich in natural minerals and has a distinctive caramel flavor. It is rich in antioxidants, amino acids, and vitamins, and also has a very low glycemic index. All of this makes it an ideal substitute for conventional cane sugar.
