Le Cupole displays dark fruit intensity and an impressive range of aromas with cherries, blackberries, and plums. On the palate, it offers a hint of sweetness, a finely accentuated texture with a phenolic density and structure that lends it volume and excellent aging potential. Added to this is a price-performance ratio at this level, which is unparalleled in Tuscany.
The Tenuta di Trinoro winery vinified Le Cupole, a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. The 21- to 23-year-old vines are cultivated at approximately 450-600 meters above sea level and, after harvest, aged in large French barriques and cement tanks.
Andrea Franchetti acquired the Trinoro estate in southern Tuscany in the 1980s. He planted his first grape varieties in the 1990s, choosing Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
