Some wines reveal their origin from the very first glass. The Barbaresco Ausario 2020 comes from Treiso in Piedmont and is made from 100% Nebbiolo – the grape variety responsible for some of the most fascinating and long-lived red wines in Northern Italy.

In the glass, the Ausario combines red berries, currants, and blueberries with subtle spicy nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, yet retains the elegance and silky tannin structure that makes a good Barbaresco so exciting.

🌿 Ausario – the heart of Molino

The Ausario hill holds a special position at the Molino family winery. The vines grow on white-gray, layered clay soil and benefit from a breezy microclimate. Old, carefully tended vines shape wines defined by structure, power, and elegance.

The fully ripe Nebbiolo grapes are harvested by hand in the first half of October. After temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for two years in wooden barrels – partially in barriques and partially in 500-liter tonneaux.

The Azienda Agricola Molino was founded in 1991 by Virginio Molino. Today, Tommaso, Franco, and Dario Molino manage the family business. In addition to Barbaresco, they produce Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Chardonnay, and Arneis on more than 16 hectares.
